Mr. Bernard has been practicing law for more than 15 years in various fields, including intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and unfair competition), business, complex litigation, and appellate work.

Mr. Bernard focuses his practice on emerging electrical and mechanical technologies and represents a number of Fortune 500 companies, venture-funded start-ups, educational institutions and entrepreneurial individuals in a variety of fields, including industrial manufacturing, computer and data networking, optics and optical networking, wireless and Ethernet technology, data and network security, semiconductors, nanotechnology, precision metrology, high performance materials, aviation, aerospace and defense electronics, automotive and hybrid technology, power generation and solar technology, medical and surgical devices, advanced medical imaging, electronic medical records, bioinformatics, software and mobile applications, financial services, construction and consumer products.

Mr. Bernard is an Ombudsman in the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) group of the Department of Defense (DoD), assisting active and non-active service members settle training and employment-related disputes with their employers, as well as helping employers draft their military leave policies. He is also actively involved in the thoroughbred horse racing industry and various equine ownership and charitable associations.
