Former GM Chief IP Counsel Carlos M. Herrera Joining CBW

Charlotte, NC – Clements Bernard Walker (CBW) PLLC, a premier Intellectual Property Law Firm with offices in Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA has announced that Carlos M. Herrera will be joining the firm, effective immediately.

He will serve the firm in an Of Counsel capacity.

Mr. Herrera previously served as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at General Motors (GM) in Detroit, MI. In this prior role, Mr. Herrera led GM’s global intellectual property affairs, including counseling, litigation support, patent and trademark matters, and other complex business transactions to drive competitive advantage throughintellectual property.  Previous to his role at GM, Mr. Herrera led IP operations for several global fortune 500 entities.

Mr. Herrera has a long track record as an accomplished corporate strategist, creating and implementing best practices, assessing risks, developing mitigating strategies, and creating monetization opportunities in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia in line with business initiatives.  Mr. Herrera earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a law degree from the University of Toledo.

Mr. Herrera will work closely with partners Christopher L. Bernard and Richard A. Walker, as CBW continues to drive efficiencies for their clients.
